NBA 2K Draft Simulator: How to Simulate a Draft in NBA 2K27
VCNBA doesn’t run a draft simulator, and NBA 2K27 doesn’t come with a separate one. This guide shows where the game itself lets you simulate drafts: MyNBA, MyWNBA and MyCAREER.

The short answer
To simulate NBA drafts in NBA 2K27, use MyNBA, the mode where you run a front office against the 29 other teams. In 2K27 it adds Historic Draft Playlists, which line up real draft classes across decades or shuffle them into alternate ones [1]. MyWNBA gives you the same tools for the WNBA [2], and MyCAREER has its own draft for your MyPLAYER [3].
Draft classes in MyNBA
Historic Draft Playlists
New in NBA 2K27, Historic Draft Playlists line up historical draft classes in order to fill your league across decades. You can also randomize player entries to create alternate-reality draft classes [1]. Three options can be mixed and matched [1]:
- Loop: when you reach the end of the playlist, it starts again from the beginning.
- Shuffle: players are spread randomly across the whole pool, so you get randomized draft classes without duplicate players.
- Reverse: the classic draft classes, in reverse order.
2K presents the playlists as a complement to MyNBA’s 100-year franchise window [1].
The lottery and league rules
MyNBA adds what 2K calls “the new 3-2-1 lottery system”. You can also apply it as a rule change, or as a historic change if your league starts before the Modern Era [1].
The Rule Change engine no longer limits you to five rule proposals per offseason: you can review and vote on as many pending proposals as you want [1].
Building the roster around your picks
Once the draft is done, MyNBA’s 2K27 roster tools take over [1]:
- Trades can involve up to four teams, with up to nine assets per team (six before).
- The CBA’s Second Apron applies, with its trade restrictions and tax penalties for high-spending teams.
- Eurostash contracts are back, after being on ice since NBA 2K24.
- You can negotiate buyouts with veterans on expiring deals, and look for late-season additions on the Buyout Market.
MyNBA Legacy: a 100-year universe
MyNBA Legacy is a single-player mode inside MyNBA. In a Modern Era save, you pick any player as your Legend, with their current attributes and badges or reverted to rookie form. You then run both the front office and that player on the court, and you can reach the Legend’s statistical milestones by playing games, simulating them or both [1].

MyWNBA is built to mirror MyNBA: every feature, adjustable simulation and franchise mechanic of MyNBA is in MyWNBA, including the draft [2].
The MyCAREER draft
In MyCAREER, your MyPLAYER reaches the NBA Draft after the prelude. Your draft position isn’t fixed: depending on how you perform, you can climb the draft board up to the No. 1 overall pick [3]. Whether you play the prelude or skip straight to your rookie season, you can always choose your team yourself. Earning the No. 1 spot lets you join the team that holds the top pick, or go to your favorite franchise instead [3].
MyCAREER can also start in one of five historical eras. Rosters follow history: rookies enter the league with the right teams [3]. The Kobe Era, for example, begins in 2003, as LeBron James enters the league with one of the greatest draft classes in history [3].
What about online draft simulators?
VCNBA doesn’t offer one. A draft simulator on another website isn’t connected to your copy of NBA 2K27: what you draft there doesn’t change your saves.
