How to Get Free VC in NBA 2K27
No website, app or code generator can add VC to your NBA 2K account. Without paying, you earn VC by playing NBA 2K27. This guide covers the legit ways to do it.

The short answer
Play the modes that pay VC. 2K’s own pages point to three: MyCAREER games, Starting 5 boards in The City and seasonal events. Anything else that promises free VC, like generators, glitch sites or VC transfers, is a scam or against the rules.
What VC is
VC (Virtual Currency) is NBA 2K27’s in-game currency. You earn it by playing, or you buy it: the PlayStation Store lists seven NBA 2K27 VC packs, from 5,000 VC to 700,000 VC [1].
VC is tied to your account, but Take-Two’s Terms of Service say you don’t own it: it’s licensed to you, it has no monetary value, and it may not be sold or transferred for real money outside the game [2].
Free ways to earn VC in NBA 2K27
1. Play MyCAREER games
MyCAREER games pay VC. 2K’s tip for bigger payouts: rack up the stats and finish with strong teammate grades. In Co-Op MyCAREER, you and your partner each earn your own full amount of VC [3].
2. Finish Starting 5 boards in The City
Completing a full 16-game board in Starting 5 awards a VC bonus, on both paths. Once you reach VIP status, each 16-game VIP board keeps paying a VC bonus [4].
3. Play the seasonal events
Each Season’s Courtside Report lists its events. In Season 1, Blackout has you fill out lines on a Bingo card for rewards that include VC, Skill Boosts and exclusive apparel [5]. When a new Season starts, check its Courtside Report for events that pay VC.
Other free rewards (no VC promised)
2K doesn’t promise VC for these, but they’re free and they help you progress.
MyTEAM daily login rewards
In MyTEAM, each day you log in earns a reward. Login streaks of three, five and seven days in a row earn extra rewards, and lifetime rewards are based on your total login days [6]. 2K’s MyTEAM page doesn’t list VC among these rewards.
Official Locker Codes
Locker Codes are free codes from 2K. To redeem one, go to MyCAREER or MyTEAM from the Main Menu. In MyCAREER, open the “Options/Quit” menu while you’re in The City; in MyTEAM, open the “MARKET” tab. Then select “Locker Codes” and enter the code, hyphens included [7]. What a code contains is up to 2K.
A “locker code generator” is a scam: real Locker Codes come from 2K.
Twitch Drops
Watching NBA 2K27 streams with Drops enabled earns rewards, delivered as Locker Codes up to 48 hours after you claim them [7]. The NBA 2K27 campaigns so far gave 2XP Coins, MyTEAM packs, Skill Boosts and a MyCOURT mural. None of them included VC [7].

Buying VC or accounts from unauthorized sellers breaks Take-Two’s Terms of Service. Take-Two can then reset your progress, or suspend or terminate your account [2].
What doesn’t work
- VC generators, with or without “human verification”. They’re scams: why none of them work.
- ”VC glitch” websites. The same promise under another name: what’s real about VC glitches.
- VC sellers, account sharing and “VC services”. Take-Two’s Terms of Service forbid selling or exchanging VC or accounts without its explicit authorization, and sharing your account or password [2].
- Mods, injectors and “VC hacks”. Take-Two’s Terms of Service forbid cheats, mod menus and hacks [2], and 2K started a permanent ban wave against NBA 2K27 cheaters on September 24, 2026 [9].
FAQ
Can I get free VC without playing?
Not reliably. The free VC that 2K describes comes from playing: MyCAREER games, Starting 5 boards and seasonal events. Locker Codes are free, but what each one contains is up to 2K.
Do Locker Codes give VC?
It depends on the code: 2K decides what each one contains. The NBA 2K27 Twitch Drops codes so far gave 2XP Coins, packs, Skill Boosts and a MyCOURT mural, not VC [7].
Can another player send me VC?
No. Take-Two’s Terms of Service forbid selling or exchanging VC without its explicit authorization, and sharing your account or password [2].
Is VCNBA connected to my NBA 2K account?
No. VCNBA doesn’t ask for your 2K, PlayStation, Xbox or Steam login, and it can’t add or remove VC.
